Acupuncture,
Cupping, Gua Sha,
& Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture is the use of very small, filiform needles (about 1/6 of the size of a needle used to draw blood) gently placed in therapeutic locations. These points stimulate the nervous system, working to "reeducate" the brain and trigger biochemical and physiological changes.
TCM therapy can also include other treatment tools, such as:
-
Cupping, which uses a gentle vacuum effect to help increase blood flow and relieve muscle tension and soreness.
-
Gua sha, which uses flat tools to apply pressure and help ease local lesions from muscles, fascia, and skin. An example of when this might be used is to help relieve muscle tension.
Dr. Kali is additionally certified in Facial Rejuvenation and Acupuncture Esthetics, a specialized practice of gentle, non-invasive treatments that can be used as an alternative to other facial procedures.
